EU Alerts: 5th December, 2023

Dear Madam/Sir,

In order to keep the Indian exporters informed of the rejections faced by Indian products in the EU and to take preventive actions. FIEO is forwarding the Rapid Alert Systems for Food and Feed (RASFF) and for Non-Food Consumer Products (RAPEX) alerts on a weekly basis.

The alerts from EU generated during 28^th November - 4^th December 2023 are as under:

Belgium : Listeria monocytogenes in cooked frozen shrimps from India, imported via France
- Product: Food (Crustaceans and products thereof) - Cooked shrimps
- Risk: No Risk
- Notification type: Information notification for follow-up
- Action Taken: Informing consignor

Italy : Presence of multiple pesticides above legal limits in cumin seeds from India
- Product: Food (Herbs and spices) - Cumin seeds
- Risk: Potentially Serious
- Notification type: Border Rejection Notification
- Action Taken: Official detention

Switzerland : Unauthorised substance Acephat (0,1 mg/kg - ppm) in Drumsticks from India
- Product: Food (Fruits and vegetables) - Drumsticks (Moringa oleifera)
- Risk: Potentially Serious
- Notification type: Border Rejection Notification
- Action Taken: Destruction
