Dear Madam/Sir,
 
In order to keep the Indian exporters informed of the rejections faced by Indian products in the EU and to take preventive actions. FIEO is forwarding the Rapid Alert Systems for Food and Feed (RASFF) and for Non-Food Consumer Products (RAPEX) alerts on a weekly basis.
 
The alerts from EU generated during 4th - 10th July 2023 are as under:
 
1. Germany: Shoes originated from India contains chromium VI (measured value up to 15.2 mg/kg)
 
The leather in the product contains chromium VI (measured value up to 15.2 mg/kg). Chromium (VI) is sensitising, can trigger allergic reactions and can cause cancer. The product does not comply with the REACH Regulation

2. Sweden: Skin lightening cream originated from India containing clobetasol propionate (0.05 % by weight), which use is forbidden in cosmetic products.
 
According to the list of ingredients the product contains clobetasol propionate (0.05 % by weight), which use is forbidden in cosmetic products. This corticosteroid should be applied only if medically prescribed. Exposure to it could cause skin irritation and may lead to endocrine problems. The product does not comply with the Cosmetic Products Regulation.
