Dear Madam/Sir,

In order to keep the Indian exporters informed of the rejections faced by Indian products in the EU and to take preventive actions. FIEO is forwarding the Rapid Alert Systems for Food and Feed (RASFF) and for Non-Food Consumer Products (RAPEX) alerts on a weekly basis.

The alerts from EU generated during 3^rd - 22^nd May 2023 are as under:

1. France: Leather slippers originated from India contains chromium (VI) (measured value: 10.5 mg/kg)

Slippers with a navy blue upper and a dark green sole, with a picture of an orange dinosaur on one foot and a green and blue one on the other. Product sold online. The product contains chromium (VI) (measured value: 10.5 mg/kg). Chromium (VI) is sensitising and can trigger allergic reactions and can cause cancer.

2. United Kingdom: Toy water gun manufactured in India recall due to containing excessive amount of lead (measured value up to 13889 mg/kg)

Two models of super soaker water blasters. XP20 model is a green and orange water blaster, XP30 is a blue and orange water blaster. The ink on the sticker of some water tanks on the product contains an excessive amount of lead (measured value up to 13889 mg/kg). Lead is harmful to human health, accumulates in the body and can cause developmental neurotoxicity. The product does not comply with the REACH Regulation.
