Dear Madam/Sir,

In order to keep the Indian exporters informed of the rejections faced by Indian products in the EU and to take preventive actions. FIEO is forwarding the Rapid Alert Systems for Food and Feed (RASFF) and for Non-Food Consumer Products (RAPEX) alerts on a weekly basis.

The alerts from EU generated during 28^th March- 4^th April 2023 are as under:

1. Sweden: Toy bus from India containing excessive amount of N-nitrosatable substances (measured value up to: 1.57 mg/kg).

Blue plastic bus with black plastic tires and three removable pieces (dark blue, orange and green). Product also sold online. The plastic of the tyres releases an excessive amount of N-nitrosatable substances (measured value up to: 1.57 mg/kg). Nitrosatable compounds can be converted into nitrosamines, which are genotoxic carcinogens via inhalation, ingestion or dermal exposure. A child could become exposed to them by putting the product in the mouth. The product does not comply with the requirements of the Toy Safety Directive nor with the European standard EN 71-12.

2. Germany: Monocrotophos found in Amla from India
