Dear Madam/Sir,
 
In order to keep the Indian exporters informed of the rejections faced by Indian products in the EU and to take preventive actions. FIEO is forwarding the Rapid Alert Systems for Food and Feed (RASFF) and for Non-Food Consumer Products (RAPEX) alerts on a weekly basis.
 
The alerts from EU generated during 7th - 13th February 2023 are as under:
 
1. France: Bath toy manufactured in India containing excessive amount of bisphenol A (measured value up to: 0.2 mg/l)
 
The toy releases an excessive amount of bisphenol A (measured value up to: 0.2 mg/l). Bisphenol A has endocrine disrupting properties and affects the mammary glands, reproductive and immune systems and may impair the brain's development and the create adverse behavioural outcomes in children.
 
The product does not comply with the requirements of the Toy Safety Directive.

2. Sweden: Temporary tattoo originated from India containing benzyl alcohol (measured value up to 3.81% by weight), but the presence is not indicated in the list of ingredients

The product contains benzyl alcohol (measured value up to 3.81% by weight), but the presence is not indicated in the list of ingredients. Moreover, the product contains the colorant CI 20470 (acid black 1), which is only allowed in rinse-off products. These chemicals could cause allergic reactions in sensitised persons.
 
The product does not comply with the Cosmetics Products Regulation.
