In order to keep the Indian exporters informed of the rejections faced by Indian products in the EU and to take preventive actions. FIEO is forwarding the Rapid Alert Systems for Food and Feed (RASFF) and for Non-Food Consumer Products (RAPEX) alerts on a weekly basis.

The alerts from EU generated during 10^th - 16^th January 2023 are as under:

1. Germany: Salmonella Kentucky and Salmonella Senftenberg found in Indian sesame seeds

Risk: Serious
Notification type: Food - Border rejection notification - Border control - consignment detained
Action Taken: Official detention

2. Finland: Unauthorised pesticide residues (chlorpyrifos and ethylene oxide) in turmeric powder from India via Türkiye

Risk: Serious

Action Taken: Product (to be) redispatched or destroyed
