In order to keep the Indian exporters informed of the rejections faced by Indian products in the EU and to take preventive actions FIEO is forwarding the Rapid Alert Systems for Food and Feed (RASFF) and for Non-Food Consumer Products (RAPEX) alerts on a weekly basis.
 
The alerts from EU generated during 27th September - 3rd October 2022 are as under:
 
1. Sweden: Pesticides found in rice from India
  • Risk: Undecided
  • Notification type: Food - Border rejection notification - Border control - consignment detained
  • Action Taken: Product (to be) redispatched or destroyed

2. Spain: Non authorised pesticide (tricyclazole) above the maximum residue limit in rice from India

3. Greece: Unauthorised pesticide residues (Chlorpyrifos, tricyclazole and hexaconazole) found in cumin seeds from India

  • Action Taken: Product (to be) redispatched or destroyed
