In order to keep the Indian exporters informed of the rejections faced by Indian products in the EU and to take preventive actions FIEO is forwarding the Rapid Alert Systems for Food and Feed (RASFF) and for Non-Food Consumer Products (RAPEX) alerts on a weekly basis.
 
The alerts from EU generated during 15th - 21st February 2022 are as under:
 
1. Alert: Hair dye originated from India containing excessive level of aerobic mesophilic bacteria (measured value: 680 000 cfu/g), yeast (measured value: 4000 cfu/g) and mould (measured value: 20 000 cfu/g)

Description: Henna-based hair dye powder. The product does not comply with the Cosmetic Products Regulation. Powder is packed in a 200 g golden plastic pouch. There is a sketch of a woman with red hair in front of the package.

The product contains an excessive level of aerobic mesophilic bacteria (measured value: 680 000 cfu/g), yeast (measured value: 4000 cfu/g) and mould (measured value: 20 000 cfu/g). If used on damaged skin, or if it comes into contact with the eyes, the product may cause infection or irritation.
