In order to keep the Indian exporters informed of the rejections faced by Indian products in the EU and to take preventive actions FIEO is forwarding the Rapid Alert Systems for Food and Feed (RASFF) and for Non-Food Consumer Products (RAPEX) alerts on a weekly basis.

The alerts from EU generated during 11th - 17th May 2021 are as under:
 
1. Alert: Salmonella in sesame seeds.

  • Risk: Serious

  • Action Taken: Official detention

2. Alert: Novel food Gloriosa superba and Thevetia peruviana seeds from Índia.

  • Risk: Undecided
  • Notification type: Food - Border rejection notification - Border control - consignment detained
  • Action Taken: Return to consignor
  • Date: 13-05-2021
 
3. Alert: Ethyleen oxide in organic amaranth, guar gum, end-product Tahini and Spices from India.
  • Notification from: Netherlands, Germany, Netherlands & Spain
  • Risk: Serious
