In order to keep the Indian exporters informed of the rejections faced by Indian products in the EU and to take preventive actions FIEO is forwarding the Rapid Alert Systems for Food and Feed (RASFF) and for Non-Food Consumer Products (RAPEX) alerts on a weekly basis.

The alerts from EU generated during 16th - 22nd March 2021 are as under:
 
1. Alert: Henna powder for colouring the skin originated from India containing 2-hydroxy-1,4-naphthoquinone (measured values: up to 0,14% by weight).
 
Germany has withdrawn Henna powder for colouring the skin from Market due to containing 2-hydroxy-1,4-naphthoquinone (measured values: up to 0,14% by weight). 2-hydroxy-1,4-naphthoquinone causes serious eye and skin irritation, is harmful if swallowed, and may cause respiratory irritation.

The product does not comply with the Cosmetic Products Regulation.

2.  Alert: Children's skirt set recalled by Belgium from Customer to avoid injuries during various activities of a child.
 
The skirt has long drawstrings to be tied at the front of the waist area. They can become trapped during various activities of a child, leading to injuries.
 
The product does not comply with the relevant European Standard EN 14682.
