In order to keep the Indian exporters informed of the rejections faced by Indian products in the EU and to take preventive actions FIEO is forwarding the Rapid Alert Systems for Food and Feed (RASFF) and for Non-Food Consumer Products (RAPEX) alerts on a weekly basis.

The alert from EU generated during 23rd July – 29th July, 2019 are as under:
 
Alert: Excessive amount of aerobic mesophilic bacteria detect in Henna colouring powder for skin and hair
 
Brown cardboard box containing 100 g of Henna colouring powder for skin and hair contain an excessive amount of aerobic mesophilic bacteria (measured values: 40 000 cfu/g). If the product used on damaged skin, or if it comes into contact with the eyes, the product may cause infection or irritation. The product does not comply with the Cosmetic Products Regulation.
