  4. The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) published Circular Ref: CMD-III/16: IS 10322 (Part 5/ Sec 5) dated 28 January, 2019 (Click Here). This circular pertains to the significant change in the amendment is incorporation of photometric requirements for LED Luminaries. The last date for implementation of the amendment is 18 September, 2019.

As per amended rule, every still maker and still importer shall apply on form DA 185 and the appropriate annexure for a license to manufacture or import stills for sale or to repair stills for reward.

    • Regulation (EU) 2019/229 dated 7 February, 2019 (Click Here) amending Regulation (EC) No 2073/2005 on microbiological criteria for foodstuffs as regards certain methods, the food safety criterion for Listeria monocytogenes in sprouted seeds, and the process hygiene criterion and food safety criterion for unpasteurised fruit and vegetable juices (ready-to-eat).

    • Regulation (EU) 2019/230 dated 7 February, 2019 (Click Here) correcting certain language versions of Implementing Regulation (EU) 2017/2330 concerning the authorisation of Iron(II) carbonate, Iron(III) chloride hexahydrate, Iron(II) sulphate monohydrate, Iron(II) sulphate heptahydrate, Iron(II) fumarate, Iron(II) chelate of amino acids hydrate, Iron(II) chelate of protein hydrolysates and Iron(II) chelate of glycine hydrate as feed additives for all animal species and of Iron dextran as feed additive for piglets and amending Regulations (EC) No 1334/2003 and (EC) No 479/2006.

    • Regulation (EU) 2019/238 dated 8 February, 2019 (Click Here) amending Regulation (EU) No 37/2010 to classify the substance ovotransferrin as regards its maximum residue limit.

    • Regulation (EU) 2019/249 dated 12 February, 2019 (Click Here) suspending the tariff preferences for certain GSP beneficiary countries in respect of certain GSP sections in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 978/2012 for the period of 2020-2022. For India, GSP preference for Inorganic and organic chemicals, Textiles, Pearls and precious metals, Iron, steel and articles of iron and steel, Base metals (excl. iron and steel), articles of base metals (excl. articles of iron and steel), Railway or tramway locomotives and rolling stocks and Motor vehicles, bicycles, aircraft and spacecraft, ships and boats are suspended for the period of 2020-2022.
