Mexico - Draft Mexican Official Standard PROY-NOM-012-conagua-2015 for Taps, cocks, valves and other appliances for hydraulic drinking-water installations Secretaría de Medio Ambiente y Recursos Naturales (Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources) has notified Mexican Official Standard applies to all types of taps, cocks, valves and other appliances for hydraulic drinking-water installations that are manufactured, remanufactured and assembled in, or imported into and marketed in, the United Mexican States. The following are not required to comply with this Standard: 1. Bib taps (bib cocks or bib valves with unthreaded spouts) for residential water systems, which must comply with Mexican Official Standard NOM-001-CONAGUA-2011; fill and flush valves for toilets; industrial-type valves when used for water not intended for human consumption, and electrical and electronic devices or control modules accompanying taps, cocks, valves and other appliances, which must be evaluated in accordance with Mexican Official Standards NOM-001-SCFI-1993 or NOM-003-SCFI-2014. Proposed date of adoption: The notified draft Mexican Official Standard will be adopted upon its publication in the Official Journal as a final Mexican Official Standard. Proposed date of entry into force: The notified Mexican Official Standard NOM-012-conagua-2015 will enter into force 60 calendar days after its publication in the Official Journal. As of that date, all products covered by NOM-012-conagua-2015 must be certified on the basis of that Standard. |
