EU– Draft regulation on technical requirements and test procedures for the EC type-approval of motor vehicles with respect to their 112-based eCall in-vehicle systems European Commission ha issued draft regulation establishing detailed technical requirements and test procedures for the EC type-approval of motor vehicles with respect to their 112-based eCall in-vehicle systems, of 112-based eCall in-vehicle separate technical units and components and supplementing and amending Regulation (EU) No 2015/758 of the European Parliament and of the Council with regard to the applicable standards This draft Commission Delegated Regulation concerns the technical requirements and the procedures for testing 112-based eCall in-vehicle systems and motor vehicles fitted with such systems for the purposes of their approval before they are placed into the market. The tests provided in the draft will ensure that the system remains functional and capable of transmitting the necessary data in a severe frontal and lateral crash of the vehicle. In addition, the system is tested for compliance with the privacy and personal data protection rules.
