China - Limits and measurement methods for emissions from motorcycles

Standardization Administration of China (SAC) has issued notification on the proposal regulates limits and measurement methods of exhaust emission, crankcase emissions and evaporative emissions from motorcycles (CHINA c). It also regulates the requirements for durability of emission-control devices and on-board diagnostic system (OBD). The limits of exhaust emissions and evaporative emissions are equivalent to Euro 4 in the Regulation (EU) No. 168/2013.

The technical requirements for the type approval, conformity of production and determination methods are also specified in the proposal.

Proposed date of adoption: 60 days after circulation by the WTO Secretariat

Proposed date of entry into force: 1 July 2018
