Thailand  - Proposing change safety requirements for Tumble dryers (HS: 845121)

The Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI) has proposed to withdraw TIS 1389-2539 (1996) Tumbler dryers: safety requirements, and replace it with TIS 1389-25xx Household and similar electrical appliances – safety: particular requirements for tumble dryers as a mandatory standard. This draft standard deals with the safety of electric tumble dryers intended for household and similar purposes, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V for single-phase appliances and 480 V for other appliances. It also deals with the safety of tumble dryers that use a refrigerating system, incorporating sealed motor-compressors, for drying textile material. These appliances may use flammable refrigerants.

Appliances not intended for normal household use but which nevertheless may be a source of danger to the public, such as appliances intended to be used by laymen in shops, in light industry and on farms are within the scope of this standard.

If the Proposal/Notification/Regulation will affect your International Business please send us your representation with facts and figures, so that these can be taken up suitably.
