EU Alert - 07012025

Dear Madam/Sir,

In order to keep the Indian exporters informed of the rejections faced by Indian products in the EU and to take preventive actions. FIEO is forwarding the Rapid Alert Systems for Food and Feed (RASFF) and for Non-Food Consumer Products (RAPEX) alerts on a weekly basis.

The alerts from EU generated during 31^st December 2024 - 6^th January 2025 are as under:

Belgium : Salmonella in processed animal proteins (buffalo meal) from India
- Product: Feed (Feed materials) - Bufallo meal
- Risk: Not Serious
- Notification type: Border Rejection Notification
- Action Taken: Product (to be) redispatched or destroyed

Denmark : Border rejection notification on rice due to residues of pesticides
- Product: Food (Cereals and bakery products) - Of a length/width ratio equal to or greater than 3
- Risk: Serious
- Notification type: Border Rejection Notification
- Action Taken: Return to consignor
- Date: 03-01-2025

Slovenia : Unauthorised novel food Azadirachta indica (Neem powder) as organic food from India
- Product: Food (Dietetic foods, food supplements and fortified foods) - Organic neem powder
- Risk: Potential Risk
- Notification type: Border Rejection Notification
- Action Taken: Use for other purpose than food/feed
