EU Alert - 19112024

Dear Madam/Sir,

In order to keep the Indian exporters informed of the rejections faced by Indian products in the EU and to take preventive actions. FIEO is forwarding the Rapid Alert Systems for Food and Feed (RASFF) and for Non-Food Consumer Products (RAPEX) alerts on a weekly basis.

The alerts from EU generated during 12^th - 18^th November 2024 are as under:

Germany : Salmonella Cannstatt in sesame seeds from India
- Product: Food (Nuts, nut products and seeds) - Sesame seeds
- Risk: Serious
- Notification type: Border Rejection Notification
- Action Taken: Official detention

Hungary : Absence of valid official certificate and unauthorised active substances in the case of spice shipment from India
- Product: Food (Herbs and spices) - Ginger powder
- Risk: Potential Risk
- Notification type: Border Rejection Notification
- Action Taken: Re-dispatch

Cyprus : Clothing set with a hooded upper part, a t-shirt and trousers. It is designed for children from 2 to 12 years old. The upper part bears functional cords with free ends on the hood.
- Product: Clothing, textiles and fashion items - Children's clothing set
- Risk: Strangulation
- Notification type: The product does not comply with the requirements of the General Product Safety Directive nor with the European standard EN 14682.
- Action Taken: Withdrawal of the product from the market
