- Notification No. 66/2018 dated 26 September, 2018 (Click Here) and 65/2018-Customs dated 24 September, 2018 (Click Here) has extended the exemption from Integrated Tax and Compensation Cess provided to goods imported by Advance Authorization/EPCG authorizations and Export Oriented Units (EOU) for specified purposes till 31 March, 2019. Earlier this exemption was extended till 1 October, 2018.
- Increasing the Basic Customs Duty on 19 major items (Click Here) including Refrigerators, AC and major consumer goods, to curb import of certain imported items. These changes in rates of Basic Customs Duty (BCD) will be effective from 27 September, 2018.
- Notification No. 48/2018-Customs (ADD) dated 25 September, 2018 (Click Here) imposing Anti-dumping Duty on Saturated Fatty Alcohols from Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand – Combinations of Low Duty Parties to be Charged Higher Duty.
- Notification No. 82/ 2018 – Customs (N.T.) dated 24 September, 2018 (Click Here) raised drawback rates of Gold, Silver Jewellery and Silver Articles. Gold jewellery Rs. 264 from Prev Rs. 246.5 and Silver Jewellery and Articles Rs. 3410 from Prev Rs. 2851.
