Dear Madam/Sir,

As per Notification 07/2015-2020 dated 1 May, 2018 (Click Here) issued by the DGFT policy condition for import of old/used and new automotive mining equipments, oil rigging equipments for operation in captive mines/ oil rigging areas and other vehicles for research and development purposes is introduced.

As per Notification 06/2015-2020 dated 4 May, 2018 (Click Here) issued by the DGFT import policy of urad and moong in split & others forms under EXIM Codes: 07139010 and 07139090 are also restricted.

As per Public Notice 03/2015-2020 dated 9 May, 2018 (Click Here) issued by the DGFT Krishnapatnam port is enlisted as a designated port for import of scrap.

As per Public Notice 04/2015-2020 dated 9 May, 2018 (Click Here) issued by the DGFT requirement of Pre-Shipment Inspection Certification (PSIC) is dispensed with for import of metallic waste and scrap from safe countries through six ports where portal monitors and container scanners are operational.

As per Public Notice 05/2015-2020 dated 9 May, 2018 (Click Here) issued by the DGFT date for implementation of Track and Trace system for export of drug formulations with respect to maintaining the Parent-Child relationship in packaging levels and its uploading on Central Portal has been extended upto 15.11.2018 for non SSI manufactured drugs as well as SSI manufactured drugs.

The Government of Singapore published Regulation of Imports and Exports (Amendment) Act 2018 dated 27 April, 2018 (Click Here). The amendments extend the powers of authorities to search, inspect and seize goods transiting through Singapore.

The Council of Ministers of Belarus issued revised Resolution No.849 / 2016 (Click Here) to confirm the implementation date of mandatory Energy Efficiency/Energy Labelling requirements for most product categories from 1 July, 2018. At the same time, for two product categories, that is TV Sets/TV Monitors (3.9) and Microwave Ovens (3.10) the implementation date is postponed for 6 months, that is to 01.01.2019.

Health Canada has published following:
- Amendment to its food additive regulations. This document modifies the List of Permitted Emulsifying, Gelling, Stabilizing or Thickening Agents dated 8 May, 2017 (Click Here) concerning the use of food additive Tamarind Gum in the manufacture of various standardized and unstandardized foods.
- SOR/2018-82 Children’’s Jewellery Regulations (Click Here), which shall repeal SOR/2016-168 Children’’s Jewellery Regulations. This Regulation will enter into force on 2 November, 2018.
- SOR/2018-83 Consumer Products Containing Lead Regulations (Click Here), which shall repeal SOR/2010-273 Consumer Products Containing Lead (Contact with Mouth) Regulations. This Regulation will enter into force on 2 November, 2018.

The Food and Drug Administration of USA published dated 7 May, 2018 (Click Here) regulations for food additives permitted in feed and drinking water of animals to provide for the safe use of dried marine microalgae as a source of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) for use in complete, dry foods for adult dogs.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) establishes an exemption from the requirement of a tolerance for residues of konjac glucomannan dated 7 May, 2018 (Click Here), when used as an inert ingredient on growing crops only at a concentration not to exceed 1% by weight in a pesticide formulation.

The European Union published following:
- Regulation (EU) 2018/679/691/692 dated 8 May, 2018 approving the substance Forchlorfenuron (Click Here), Talc E553B (Click Here) and Zoxamide (Click Here) in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council concerning the placing of plant protection products on the market, and amending the Annex to Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 540/2011.
- Regulation (EU) 2018/690 dated 8 May, 2018 (Click Here) amending Regulation (EU) No 540/2011 as regards the conditions of approval of the active substance fenazaquin.
- Regulation (EU) 2018/682 dated 7 May, 2018 (Click Here) amending Annex II to Regulation (EC) No 1333/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards the use of polyglycerol polyricinoleate (E 476) food additive in emulsified sauces.
- Regulation (EU) 2018/681 dated 7 May, 2018 (Click Here) amending the Annex to Regulation (EU) No 231/2012 laying down specifications for food additives listed in Annexes II and III to Regulation (EC) No 1333/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards specifications for Polyvinyl alcohol-polyethylene glycol graft-co-polymer (E 1209).
- Regulation (EU) 2018/678 dated 4 May, 2018 (Click Here) amending and correcting Annex I to Regulation (EC) No 1334/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards certain flavouring substances.
- Regulation (EU) 2018/677 dated 4 May, 2018 (Click Here) amending Annex II to Regulation (EC) No 1333/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards the use of Thaumatin (E 957) as a flavour enhancer in certain food categories.
