Republic of Korea - Proposed Establishment of the "Labelling standard and method for relative comparison of Sodium content"

Ministry of Food and Drug Safety  has proposed establishment of "Labelling standard and method for relative comparison of Sodium content" is as follows:

For labelling purpose:

·    Establish the reference sodium values of classified food for relative comparison

·    Establish the labelling items and labelling method (including labelling design)

·    Establish the interval and procedure for the re-evaluation of reference sodium values

Proposed date of adoption: April 2017

Proposed date of entry into force: 19 May 2017

Final date for comments: 60 days from notification
