Argentina - Special certification for the handling of substances subject to special control: Psychotropic substances and narcotic drugs

Administración Nacional de Medicamentos, Alimentos y Tecnología Medica, ANMAT has issued notificación on Special certification for the handling of substances subject to special control: Psychotropic substances and narcotic drugs

Any natural and/or legal person engaged in the importation, exportation, production, manufacture, packing for retail sale, marketing and/or storage, in the national jurisdiction or for inter-provincial trade, of the substances listed in the Annex to the notified ANMAT Resolution or of medicinal or pharmaceutical preparations that contain such substances must register with the Directorate for the Surveillance of Substances Subject to Special Control (DVSSCE) of the National Institute of Medicines (INAME), attached to the National Drug, Food and Medical Technology Administration (ANMAT), in order to obtain special certification for the handling of such substances.

Authorization must be sought from the DVSSCE of the INAME for the importation or exportation of any of the substances listed in the aforementioned Annex.

Proposed date of adoption: 31 December 2016

Proposed date of entry into force: 30 March 2017 (Article 3); 28 June 2017 (Articles 4 and 7)

Final date for comments: 29 January 2017
