South Korea – Proposes revision of the labeling standards for genetically modified foods Ministry of Food and Drug Safety proposes amendment seeks to: 1) Allow Non-GMO labeling when adventitious presence of approved GMO components is up to 0.9% 2) Clarify GMO labeling exemption subjects - Include health functional food and livestock products in GMO labeling exemption subjects in case supporting documents such as Government certificate, IP certificate, Inspection certificate are attached. - Government certificate: Documentary evidence showing that the government of the producing or exporting country acknowledges the food, etc. concerned has been segregated and handled separately from GM foods, etc. during the handling process including seed purchase, production, manufacturing, storage, sorting, transportation and shipping
