EU introducing regulation on design, construction and performance requirements and testing standards for marine equipment and repealing Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/1397

European Commission introducing regulation replaces Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/1397 and adapts its content to changes in the relevant international instruments.

Products covered :  Marine Equipment (including inter alia life-saving appliances, pollution prevention equipment, fire protection equipment, navigation equipment, radio communication equipment)

Proposed date of adoption:August/September 2020

Proposed date of entry into force:Entry into force 20 days from publication in the Official Journal of the EU (about a month after adoption approx.) A transition period of three years has been set for new items which have been listed in this Implementing Regulation for the first time.

Final date for comments:60 days from notification
