USA files a petition for amendments in colour additive regulations

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA or we) is announcing that we have filed a petition, submitted by GNT USA, Inc. (GNT), proposing that the colour additive regulations be amended to expand the safe use of spirulina (Arthrospira platensis) extract at levels consistent with good manufacturing practice.

Products covered: mineral water and aerated water, cider, perry, mead and other fermented beverages, undenatured ethyl alcohol of an alcoholic strength of < 80%, spirits, liqueurs, sauce and mixed seasonings
