Canada - Regulations Amending the Toys Regulations The Toys Regulations under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act (CCPSA) have been amended to clarify existing requirements, update test methods and delete redundancies or obsolete requirements. Specifically: · section 27 (prohibition of certain toxic substances in the plastic material in toys for children less than three years of age), Schedule 2 (performance criteria and test methods related to the acute toxicity of substances and stuffing materials in toys) and Schedule 3 (performance criteria and test methods related to irritation, corrosion or sensitization of substances and stuffing materials in toys) have been modified; · section 43 and Schedule 9 (performance criteria and test methods for batteries used in toys) have been deleted; · new definitions have been added to section 1; and · sections 7, 26, 29 and 36 (French version only) have been reworded.
