The use of external power sources (AEDs) that demand power to the power grid has been increasing strongly in recent years, so it was considered necessary to elaborate a rule that regulates the consumption of electric energy in operation and in no-power mode Load or vacuum, in order to reduce energy consumption by this concept and thus contribute to the preservation of non-renewable natural resources.

Proposed date of entry into force: This draft Mexican official standard will enter into force 120 calendar days after its publication, as a final rule and from that date, all external power sources included within the scope of this draft standard Mexican official, must be certified based on it.

Final date for comments:60 calendar days after 5 December 2016.
