Korea - Proposed Amendments for "Regulation on the Accreditation of Functional Ingredients and Standards/Specifications for Health/Functional Foods"

The proposed amendments seek to:

·  Revise definition of materials for functional ingredients to define compounds, extracts, refined        products, etc.

·  Introduce an accelerated evaluation system for a functional ingredient composed of one-                 component, and tested by the MFDS authorized method

·  Withdraw accreditation certificate of functional ingredients when accreditation is revoked

·  Revoke functional ingredient grading

Final date for comments: 60 days from notification
