Specifications and test methods Secretaría de Economía (Ministry of the Economy) has notified draft Mexican Official Standard establishes the safety specifications for portable machines fitted with an internal combustion engine that are intended mainly for agricultural, forestry and domestic use, which are marketed in the territory of the United Mexican States. It covers portable brush-cutters and grass-trimmers, powered hand-held hedge-trimmers, portable chainsaws, and knapsack mistblowers, and contains specific sections for each type of machine (see Chapter 5: "Specifications and test methods"). Each of these sections refers to the specific Mexican standard containing the safety specifications and test methods relevant to the use for which the machine is intended. Proposed date of adoption: The notified draft Mexican Official Standard will enter into force upon its publication in the Official Journal as a final standard. Proposed date of entry into force: The notified draft Mexican Official Standard will enter into force 365 calendar days following its publication in the Official Journal as a final standard.
