Republic of Korea - Draft revision for Safety and Quality Mark Criteria for Furniture

Korean Agency for Technology and Standards (KATS) has published draft revision for Safety and Quality Mark Criteria for Furniture. The revised Mark Criteria for Furniture as follows:

• In order to reduce injuries to children from hazards associated with the tipping over of drawers, the safety specification of stability is added

According to the Safety and Quality Mark System, manufacturers or importers should indicate labelling of safety or quality if their products are subject to the Safety and Quality Mark.

Proposed date of adoption: January 2017 or later

Proposed date of entry into force: January 2017 or later

Final date for comments: 60 days from notification
