Republic of Korea - Proposed Revision of the "Regulation for Designation of Certification Assurance Agency in Foods and Animal products"

Ministry of Food and Drug Safety has proposed revision of the Regulation for Designation of Certification Assurance Agency in Foods and Animal product. The main proposed amendments is as the following:

·    Specify the types of advertisements and labelling authorised and guaranteed by the foreign review           boards

·    Clarify roles and responsibilities of review committee and improve the way it is managed

·     Specify requirements for applicants

·     The number of required documents can be simplified in accordance with the types of applicants

Authorization boards supervised by foreign governments or foreign government agencies can be exempted from the screening process.

Final date for comments: 60 days from notification
