Korea Republic - Draft revision for Self-Regulatory Safety Confirmation Criteria for Plastic Bath Mats Notice

Korean Agency for Technology and Standards (KATS) has issued a draft revision for Self-Regulatory Safety Confirmation Criteria forPlastic Bath MatsNotice has been revised as follows:

· Physical safety requirement and hazardous material (pb, Cb, phthalate plasticizers) safety requirements of Plastic bath mat are added.

· For consumer products subject to the self-regulatory safety confirmation, manufacturers or importers are required to confirm safety by reporting to Safety Certification Body with attachment of test and Inspection Body Certificates from testing laboratories and inspection bodies designated by models of the products before product release or clearance through the customs to identify whether they conform to the safety criteria.

Proposed date of adoption: December 2016 or later

Proposed date of entry into force: December 2016 or later

Final date for comments: 60 days from notification
