Uganda – Draft standard DUS EAS 489:2006 for Concrete poles for telephone, power and lighting purposes

Uganda National Bureau of Standards has publisheddraft standard DUS EAS 489:2006 for Concrete poles for telephone, power and lighting purposes. This Draft Uganda Standard specifies the characteristics of pre-cast reinforced, partially prestressed and prestressed concrete poles. Possible uses for the poles include electrical reticulation and distribution, railway traction, telephone line support, street lighting standards and high mast lighting structures.

Proposed date of adoption: January 2017

Proposed date of entry into force: Upon declaration as mandatory by the Minister for Trade, Industry and Cooperatives.

Final date for comments: 7 November 2016
