Canada - Proposed Order Amending Schedule VI to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and Regulations Amending the Schedule to the Precursor Control Regulations to Add Chemicals Used in the Production of Fentanyl Health Canada has issued notice to Interested Parties – Proposed Order Amending Schedule VI to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and Regulations Amending the Schedule to the Precursor Control Regulations to Add Chemicals Used in the Production of Fentanyl . In order to address the opioid abuse crisis in Canada, Health Canada proposes to amend Schedule VI to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) and the Schedule to the Precursor Control Regulations (PCR) by including in these Schedules six chemicals which can be used in the synthesis of fentanyl. This proposal would lead to further regulatory controls of these chemicals to support law enforcement in combatting illicit fentanyl production in Canada. This Notice outlines Health Canada's intent with respect to its scheduling proposal and seeks input from the public regarding the proposed regulatory framework. Public feedback will be considered by the Government during the regulatory development process.
