South Africa - Compulsory Specification for Safety of Medium-Voltage Electric Cables

NRCS (National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications) has notified compulsory specification for Safety of Medium-Voltage Electric Cables. This compulsory specification covers safety of single core and three-core cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulated cables for rated voltages 3,8/6,6 kV to 19/33 kV, and impregnated paper insulated metal-sheathed cables for rated voltages 3,3/3,3 kV to 19/33 kV (excluding pressure assisted cables)

Proposed date of adoption: 11 November 2016

Proposed date of entry into force: 12 May 2017

Final date for comments: 60 days from notification
