Republic Of Korea - Proposed amendments to the "Enforcement Rule of the Cosmetic Act"

Ministry of Food and Drug Safety has issued notification proposing amendments to the "Enforcement Rule of the Cosmetic Act" as follows

·    Expands scope of functional cosmetics from 3 types into 11 types

·    The use of halal certification is allowed on the label or in the advertisement

·     Deletes duplicate regulations in labelling and advertising requirements

·     Relaxes the standards for administrative disposition (a total of 32 cases)

Proposed date of entry into force: To be determined

Final date for comments: 21 September 2016
