Uganda - An Ordinance to develop and regulate the maize industry in Nakaseke District and for related matters

Nakaseke District Local Government has issued an Ordinance to develop and regulate the maize industry in Nakaseke District and for related matters. The Ordinance contains provisions on: moisture content; proper agronomic practices to be observed in maize industry; use of fertilizers and manure; harvesting and post harvest handling of maize; and agro-inputs. The Ordinance also contains conditions for trade in maize in Nakaseke District.

Note: This Ordinance will also be notified to the SPS Committee.

Proposed date of entry into force: To be determined after final date for comments

Final date for comments: 60 days from notification
