Kenya - DKS 2648: 2015 Health, safety and environmental guidelines for the construction and operation of timber treatment plants

Kenya Bureau of Standards has published standard DKS 2648: 2015 Health, safety and environmental guidelines for the construction and operation of timber treatment plants. This standard serves as a practical guide on occupational health and safety and environmental aspects in and around timber treatment plants with the intention to reduce health and safety and environmental risks. It is applicable to any treatment process in which waterborne preservatives, flame-retardants, anti-sap stain chemicals, organic solvent-based preservatives or oil-borne preservatives are used.

Proposed date of entry into force: Upon declaration as mandatory by the Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of industrialization and International trade
