Japan - Partial Amendment of Safety Regulations of Road Transport Vehicles Act, Transport Ordinance

Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism – MLIT has issued notification for partial Amendment of "Safety Regulations of Road Transport Vehicles Act, Transport Ordinance". This amendment introducing UN Regulation (formally called UNECE Regulations) No.138 based on the "1958 Agreement" and additional requirement regarding prohibition of "AVAS Pause Function" which is permitted in the above UN Regulation to national regulation.

Proposed date of adoption: 7 October 2016

Proposed date of entry into force: 8 October 2016

Final date for comments: 60 days from notification
