Chile - Protocol establishes the certification procedure for diaphragm gas meters with battery-powered totalizers:

Superintendencia de Electricidad y Combustibles, SEC (Electricity and Fuel Board) has notified Protocol establishes the certification procedure for diaphragm gas meters with battery-powered totalizers, in accordance with the scope and field of application of Spanish Standard UNE-EN 1359:1999.

It applies to meters that fulfil the the following conditions:

            a)         Coaxial single-pipe or two-pipe meters

b)         Designed to measure gaseous fuels from families 1, 2 and 3, in accordance with Chilean Standard (NCh) No. 953.Of2006, supplemented by Spanish Standard UNE-EN 437:2000+A1:2009.

c)         Maximum pressure of 1 bar

d)         Maximum flow rate of 160 m3/h

Minimum ambient temperature and gas temperature range of between -5º C and +35º C

Final date for comments: 60 days from the date of notification.
