United Arab Emirates - Control Scheme of Energy food products for protection of human health

Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (ESMA) has issued notification on draft of UAE control scheme for Energy Products for protection of human health or safety and prevention of deceptive practices and consumer protection This draft of UAE control scheme applies to:

• Energy food products: stimulating energy food and energy, which are manufactured in various forms such as chewing gum and sweets, sweets and similar products
• Non–alcoholic energy drinks and do not include athletes drinks or products made basically from tea or coffee

Ginseng products intended for direct consumption, including catering and packaging if the need arises, which are used as food or food additives, exempting that includes the aforementioned products they require more processing products used for medicinal purposes

Final date for comments: 60 days from notification
