Senegal - Draft Standard: Biodegradable packaging - Small- and medium- sized paper bags - Specifications and requirements :

The notified draft Standard establishes the technical specifications for biodegradable paper bags to be used as packaging. It supplements the national regulations on packaging, namely Law 2015/09 of 21 April 2015 prohibiting plastic packaging with a thickness of less than 30 micrometres which is dangerous for the environment, by establishing the general characteristics and performance of and test methods for packaging.

Proposed date of adoption: 12 May 2016

Proposed date of entry into force: The Standard will be subject to the relevant procedure prior to approval.

Final date for comments: 60 days from the date of notification.
