Mexico - Mexican Official Standard on Energy efficiency of three-phase squirrel-cage AC induction motors.

Secretaría de Energía (Ministry of Energy) has issued draft Mexican Official Standard PROY-NOM-016-ENER-2016: Energy efficiency of three-phase squirrel-cage AC induction motors with a rated output of 0.746 kW to 373 kW.

This notified draft Standard is binding and seeks to establish the conditions and specifications to ensure the energy efficiency of three-phase squirrel-cage AC induction motors with a rated output of 0.746 kW to 373 kW.

It applies to electric continuous duty, air-cooled, horizontally or vertically mounted, single rotational frequency (rotational speed of the motor shaft or axis), open- or closed-loop, three-phase squirrel-cage AC induction motors with a rated output of 0.746 kW to 373 kW and a rated voltage of up to 600 V, which are marketed in national territory.

Proposed date of adoption: The notified draft Mexican Official Standard will be adopted upon its publication in the Official Journal as a final Mexican Official Standard.

Proposed date of entry into force: The notified draft Mexican Official Standard will enter into force 60 calendar days after its publication in the Official Journal. As of that date, all three-phase squirrel-cage AC induction motors with a rated output of 0.746 kW to 373 kW covered by PROY-NOM-016-ENER-2016 must be certified on the basis of this Standard.

Final date for comments: 60 days after its notification
