Brazil – Safety tempered glass incorporation in motor vehicles

National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology (INMETRO)has issued draft regulation establishing requirements for automotive safety glass to be met by all supplier chain of the product on the national market as well as the evaluation criteria and procedures to access conformity in order to obtain safe automotive glass, through the certification mechanism aiming at reduce the accident risks in its use.

It revokes:

• Inmetro's Ordinance Nº 156, 4 June 2009;
• Inmetro's Ordinance Nº 157, 4 June 2009;
• Inmetro's Ordinance Nº 246, 30 May 2011;
• Inmetro's Ordinance Nº 247, 30 May 2011;

Inmetro's Ordinance Nº 401, 1 August 2012,within 66 months after the publication of this legal instrument.
