South Africa - compulsory specification safety requirements for electric power tools such as hand held tools, transportable tools, lawn and garden tools

NRCS – National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications has issued pertains to compulsory specification safety requirements for electric power tools such as hand held tools, transportable tools, lawn and garden tools. This notification applied on  Electrical motor‑operated or magnetically driven hand-held tools, transportable tools and lawn and garden machinery, with the following attributes:

·                Maximum rated voltage not exceeding 250 V single phase a.c

·                Maximum rated voltage not exceeding 480 V three phase a.c; and

·                Maximum rated input not exceeding 4000 W
