Japan- Amending therelevant regulations concerning on frontal impact with focus on restraint systems in order to harmonize them with UN Regulation. To promote the international harmonization of the vehicle regulation for automotive parts and equipment without degrading the levels of the national safety, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism – MLIT has issued notification on frontal impact with focus on restraint systems of Motor cars and other motor vehicles principally designed for the transport of persons (other than those of heading 87.02), including station wagons and racing cars. (HS: 8703), Motor vehicles for the transport of goods (HS: 8704). This notification amending the relevant regulations concerning on frontal impact with focus on restraint systems in order to harmonize them with UN Regulation (formally called UNECE Regulations) No.137 based on the "1958 Agreement" and amendments to the relevant regulations concerning UN Regulation No. 94 (Including vehicles used for the carriage of goods which is exclude these regulations.)
