Israel- Revision of the Mandatory Standard SI 46, dealing with wheat flour

For Protection of human health or safety, Israel WTO-TBT Enquiry Point has issued notification on revision of the Mandatory Standard SI 46, dealing with wheat flour. This draft standard revision adopts the Codex Standard 152 – 1985, Revision 1995.

The major differences between the old version and this new revised draft standard are as follow:

·                Changes the standard's scope to exclude semolina wheat and durum wheat

·                Deletes the specific requirements for all types of flours

Adds specific requirements for white and dark wheat flours, used in producing white bread products, standard bread and Challahs (Jewish traditional bread)
