Israel- Revision of the Mandatory Standard SI 1296 part 1, dealing with storage gas burning water heaters

For Protection of human health or safety, Israel WTO-TBT Enquiry Point has issued notification on revision of the Mandatory Standard SI 1296 part 1, dealing with storage gas burning water heaters. This draft standard revision adopts both the European Standard EN 89: October 1999 and its amendments A1: Oct. 1999, A2: Aug. 2000, A3: Oct. 2006 and A4: Nov. 2006, as well as the American-Canadian Standards ANSI Z 21.10.1-2013/CSA 4.1-2013 and ANSI Z 21.10.3-2013/CSA 4.3-2013, and allows compliance with either of them.

The major differences between the old version and this new revised draft standard are as follows:

·                Adopts an updated version of the American-Canadian Standards.

Removes Israel national requirement relating to the pentane resistance of the elastomeric materials and therefore deletes the following related paragraphs: paragraph 7.19 (relating to the European Standard) and paragraphs 1.3.11 and 4.2.11 (relating to the American-Canadian Standards).
