Czech Republic– New rules under the new Atomic Act for radioactive or fissile material For safety requirements, State Office for Nuclear Safety has issued notification on draft of the new Atomic Act. The New Atomic Act, stipulates the following in particular: · rules for specifying radioactive or fissile material subject to a transport licence, their classification, and requirements they must meet · technical requirements for specifying a packaging for the transport of radioactive or fissile material, and requirements imposed on it requirements regarding the content of documentation for the transport licence of a radioactive or fissile material · technical and organisational conditions of transport and shipping of a radioactive or fissile material · requirements regarding the content, language and availability of documentation required for the transport and shipping of a radioactive or fissile material · the manner of marking, appearance and manner of use of safety labels for labelling a radioactive package, vehicle used for its transport, and a freight container · type approval of packaging for the transport, storage or disposal of radioactive or fissile material, type approval of a special-form radioactive material and a low-dispersible radioactive material The draft of the new Atomic Act contains a mutual recognition clause.
