Israel – Adopting Codex Alimentarius Standard 105 – 1981 for revision of standards for Cocoa powders(HS: 1805)

To protect human health, Standard Institution of Israel has issued notification for revision of the Mandatory Standard SI 650 to be replaced with SI 650 part 2 dealing with cocoa powders. This regulation has mandate to i) Expends the standard's scope to include also dry mixtures of cocoa and sugar. ii) Changes paragraph 6 dealing with labelling and applies the requirement of Israel Mandatory Standard SI 1145. Iii) Adds new hygiene and microbiological requirements (paragraph 4 and 5).
